The lush forests and scenic grandeur of the High Sierra welcomes the vacationer to Elwell Lakes Lodge. Nestled in a pine and fir forest at the end of a mountain road, it will take you back to an earlier era when you reach your destination.
Built in 1920, the lodge has retained its rustic qualities while providing all of the modern amenities. Still owned and operated by the original family, we take pride in offering our guests the same homey atmosphere that attracted our first customers.
Elwell has ten small cabins with kitchens and bathrooms. Each comfortable cabin has everything you might need to stay a week in the mountains, hiking each day and swimming in the lakes, without camping on the ground.
Whatever your interests, fishing, hiking, or just reading a book by a mountain stream, Elwell Lakes Lodge is the perfect place to come to spend your vacation. Come and discover, as others have, your retreat in the Sierra Nevada.
We will be glad to see you!
Elwell Lakes Lodge is operated under a special use permit issued by the Plumas National Forest and is an equal opportunity recreation services provider
